About Laurie's Cobalt World
Meet Laurie Stroupe, Proprietor
In 1978, I was
just getting ready to set up housekeeping for the very
first time. A dear friend gave me a gift that I
have to this day - a piece of depression glass from her
collection. It was a cobalt blue bud vase.
I immediately fell in love with the beautiful color and the simple, yet stunning design.
That love affair continues today. Cobalt is still my favorite glass and I suspect that it will continue to be for the rest of my life. My own collection includes modern cobalt blue glass pieces as well as collectible cobalt blue glass.
In 2008, I decided to start a business selling items on the internet. I knew that it had to be something that I loved. The answer was a simple one: cobalt glass, a timeless beauty.
I spend a great deal of my time searching for sources of quality cobalt blue glass to offer you at Laurie's Cobalt World. It's a labor of love - something of a cross between an Easter egg hunt and Christmas morning!
My husband Andrew and I live with our three younger children in Ararat, VA, a tiny town not big enough to boast a traffic light. Andrew telecommutes to his job in Georgia. Andrew and I love to ballroom dance on the weekends.
In addition to selling beautiful cobalt glass, I raise grand champion Holland Lop rabbits. Visit The Nature Trail Rabbitry to see my furry babies. If you have and think you might like to have a rabbit as a pet, visit my pet rabbit website, Precious Pet Rabbits. We also raise long coat Chihuahuas. In addition to the Laurie's Cobalt World BLOG, I also write a daily BLOG about raising show rabbits, sportsmanship, rabbitry management, and husbandry.
