Q.
How do I put items into my shopping cart?![]()
A. You may click the "Add To Cart" button next to the product either on a main product category page (like Home Interior Gifts) or the button next to the product on an individual product page (like Cobalt Blue Wine Glasses). Each time you place a product into your shopping cart, you have the option to continue shopping or to purchase your items.
Q. The quantity says "6" and I want to buy 8. How do I change the number?
A. You may highlight the number listed and type in the number you wish to purchase. Or, you can wait and change the quantity in the shopping cart itself. It's totally up to you.
Q. I've finished selecting items. Now how do I get back to the shopping cart?
A. Look up at the main link bar just under the website title, "Laurie's Cobalt World." The last button on the right is "View Cart." You can get back to your shopping cart by clicking that button.
Q. I'm in the shopping cart and I see the items I've selected. Now what do I do?
A. If you are having items shipped to Virginia, check the box so that you can see your total with sales taxes added. Next, choose your shipping preference. If you are making purchases of $99 or more, choose free shipping. Otherwise, you'll choose FedEx Ground. Choose your payment type. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, eChecks, PayPal, checks, and money orders.
Q. How do I buy?
A. When you are ready, click "Purchase for $___" at the bottom LEFT of your shopping cart page. (Your purchase amount will be listed instead of a blank.)
Q. What happens after I click the "Purchase for $___" button?
A. You will be asked for your shipping information, including name, address, telephone number, and email address. This information is used to process your order. Please refer to our privacy policy if you have any concerns. Then you will go to your appropriate payment screen to complete your transaction.
Q. How do I pay?
A. Check out our Payment Options page.
Q. How long will it take for my order to arrive?
A. Except for special orders and back orders, we generally pack up your purchase within 48 hours, excluding weekends and holidays. The actual arrival of your package will depend on your distance from Mount Airy, NC, from where we ship our packages.
Q. Are purchases insured?
A. Yes, every package we ship is insured. If your shipment contains a broken piece, contact us immediately.
Q. Why do you need my telephone number?
A. It is requested by the shipper. The only reason we would call you is for customer service to help resolve an issue. We never sell or rent your telephone number to others. We will not use your telephone number except in connection with your order.
Q. Is my satisfaction guaranteed?
A. Absolutely. If you are not thrilled with your purchase, just return it with the original packing material to us within 30 days. Please indicate the reason for your dissatisfaction so that we may better serve you in the future. Your purchase price will be refunded.
Q. Are you available to answer questions on the weekends?
A. Although our official office hours are Monday through Friday, we are often available on the weekend. Feel free to call after 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays or after 1:00 on Sundays, Eastern Time.
Q. Are the products you sell new or used?
A. The products you purchase from us are new. However, many are made with original molds that date back many years. The hand-crafted glass available on this website will fit right in with your collectibles.
Q. How do I know that you are a reputable business?
A. Laurie's Cobalt World was brand new in February, 2008, but Laurie is not new to the internet or to sales. Since 2004, Laurie has sold over the internet, both products and services, with high customer satisfaction. References are available upon request.
Q. Do you have a BLOG?
A. A BLOG for Laurie's Cobalt World was created on February 19, 2008. Visit it for special recipes, decorating ideas, news on brand new items, and a special behind-the-scenes look at Laurie's Cobalt World.
Q. Do you have a free newsletter?
A. Yes! We have a free email newsletter. You can
sign up in a matter of a few moments and unsubscribe easily at any
time. We respect your privacy and do not sell or rent your
email address to anyone.
Q. Why do the red glass pieces cost more?
A. The mineral added to glass to make it red is gold.
Q. Do you sell wholesale?
A. Contact me directly at 276-755-2809 for prices on volume purchases. Free shipping is not available on volume purchases. Written quotes are available.
Q. I see that many of the items you sell are American handmade glass. What does that mean?
A. Each piece is made individually. Some pieces take the skills of nearly a dozen craftsman to complete. Molds are used to create the basic design, but the pieces are finished by hand. The same mold, for example, could be used to make a plate, a flared bowl, or a bowl that curves inward. Each piece is unique. Some molds are dozens of years old having been purchased from glass companies that operated during the depression or even before.

A. Stumble Upon is a social book marking network. If you like this website, please click on the thumbs up button. You may be given a chance to say something about what you like about Laurie's Cobalt World. Then the website gets a "vote" and is more likely to be found by other members of Stumble Upon.
